#WARNING – Graphic Reading
The moment a father makes the choice to harm his own child, is the moment he looses the right to ever be respected as a man. Becoming a father is a privilege. A privilege that is based on trust, love, protection, kindness and respect.
A father – daughter relationship should be one that is described with warmth; not one that is tainted in fear, violence and shame.
A Taranaki father was found guilty of horrific sexual crimes against his 16-year-old daughter. Judge Emma Smith from the New Plymouth District Court delivered the Jury’s verdict on Wednesday. The father was guilty of rape, two counts of sexual violation and two counts of indecent assault.
The father knew what he was doing was wrong – but he continued to rape his daughter.
The father believed his daughter consented to sexual intercourse – but he began raping his daughter when she was asleep.
The father knew she was scared – but he didn’t stop his violent assault.
The father accepts he had sexual intercourse with his own child – but he believes it is not rape. There are NO excuses for RAPE!
When you think about what this poor innocent girl has endured because of the cruel and violent actions of her own father; sadness and anger fill my mind.
When a father sexually assaults his own child, the damage he causes to is irreversible. It is not just the overwhelming pain of the physical and sexual violation. It is the life-long emotional scarring she will bare everyday.
Having to face each day knowing that the one man who was meant to love, protect and nurture her; was also the same monster who violently stole her innocence and broke her trust. She can never reverse that pain or forget the face of her rapist.
Judge Emma Smith told the offender he is now subject to the Three Strikes Law for each charge. He will be remanded in custody until sentencing.
This cruel monster will never deserve the right to be called a father. He needs to be punished to the maximum sentence of 20 years for the rape of his own child!
Then when the 20 years is served he should be sentenced for the life-long emotional and physical damage he intentionally and selfishly inflicted upon his own innocent daughter!
How dare he do this to his own child!
